என்நோற்றான் கொல் எனும் சொல்.

``ஆகா! இவனைப் பிள்ளையாகப் பெற்றது இவன் தந்தை பெற்ற பெறும்பேறு'', என்று ஒரு மகன் புகழப்படுவதுதான், அவன் தன்னுடைய தந்தைக்குச் செய்யக்கூடிய கைம்மாறு எனப்படும்

மகன் தன் தந்தைக்குச் செய்யத் தக்க கைம்மாறு, இவன் தந்தை இவனை மகனாகப் பெற என்ன தவம் செய்தானோ என்று பிறர் புகழ்ந்து சொல்லும் சொல்லாகும்.
சாலமன் பாப்பையா உரை
தன்னைக் கல்வி அறிவு உடையவனாய் ஆளாக்கிய தந்தைக்கு மகன் செய்யும் கைம்மாறு, பிள்ளையின் ஒழுக்கத்தையும் அறிவையும் கண்டவர், இப்பிள்ளையைப் பெறுவதற்கு இவன் தகப்பன் என்ன தவம் செய்தானோ என்று சொல்லும் சொல்லைப் பெற்றுத் தருவதே.
பாரி மேலகர் உரை
பரிமேலழகர் உரை: தந்தைக்கு மகன் ஆற்றும் உதவி - கல்வியுடையனாக்கிய தந்தைக்கு மகன் செய்யும் கைம்மாறாவது; இவன் தந்தை என்நோற்றான் கொல் எனும் சொல் - தன்னறிவும் ஒழுக்கமுங் கண்டார் இவன் தந்தை இவனைப் பெறுதற்கு என்ன தவஞ் செய்தான் கொல்லோ வென்று சொல்லுஞ் சொல்லை நிகழ்த்துதல். ('சொல்' லென்பது நிகழ்த்துதலாகிய தன் காரணந்தோன்ற நின்றது.நிகழ்த்துதல் - அங்ஙனஞ் சொல்ல வொழுகல்.இதனாற் புதல்வன் கடன் கூறப்பட்டது).
மணி குடவர் உரை
மணக்குடவர் உரை: மகன் தந்தைக்குச் செய்யும் உபகாரம் இவன் தந்தை என்ன தவஞ்செய்தானென்று உலகத்தார் சொல்லுஞ் சொல்லைப் படைத்தல். இது நெறியினொழுகுவாரை உலகத்தார் புகழ்வாராதலான், மகனும் ஒழுக்கமுடையனாக வேண்டுமென்றது.
வி முனுசாமி உரை
திருக்குறளார் வீ. முனிசாமி உரை: மகன் தந்தைக்குச் செய்ய வேண்டிய உதவி என்னவென்றால், "இப்பிள்ளையைப் பெற இத்தந்தை என்ன நோன்பு நோற்றானோ?" என்று பிறர் சொல்லும் சொல்லினை உண்டாக்குவதாகும்.

Translation
The son to sire this word is debt \"What penance such a son begot!\"
Explanation
(So to act) that it may be said "by what great penance did his father beget him," is the benefit which a son should render to his father
