உள்ளழிக்க லாகா அரண்.

பகையால் அழிவு வாராமல் பாதுகாக்கும் அரண், அறிவு ஒன்றுதான்
மு. வரதராசன் உரை
அறிவு அழிவு வராமல் காக்கும் கருவியாகும், அன்றியும் பகைகொண்டு எதிர்ப்பவர்க்கும் அழிக்க முடியாத உள்ளரணும் ஆகும்.
சாலமன் பாப்பையா உரை
அறிவு நமக்கு அழிவு வராமல் காக்கும் ஆயுதம், பகைவராலும் அழிக்க முடியாத உட்கோட்டை.
பாரி மேலகர் உரை
பரிமேலழகர் உரை: அறிவு அற்றம் காக்கும் கருவி - அரசர்க்கு அறிவு என்பது இறுதி வாராமல் காக்கும் கருவியாம், செறுவார்க்கு அழிக்கலாகா உள் அரணும் - அதுவேயுமன்றிப் பகைவர்க்கும் அழிக்கலாகாத உள்ளரணும் ஆம். (காத்தல் - முன் அறிந்து பரிகரித்தல், உள்ளரண் - உள்ளாய அரண், உள்புக்கு அழிக்கலாகா அரண் என்றும் ஆம். இதனால், அறிவினது சிறப்புக் கூறப்பட்டது.).

மணக்குடவர் உரை: ஒருவனுக்குக் குற்றமறைக்குங் கருவியாவது அறிவு: பகைவராலும் உட்புகுந்து அழிக்கலாகா அரணும் அதுதானே. இது தனக்குள்ள குற்றத்தை மறைக்கு மென்றும் பிறரால் வருந்தீமையைக் காக்குமென்றும் அறிவினாலாம் பயன் கூறிற்று.
வி முனுசாமி உரை
திருக்குறளார் வீ. முனிசாமி உரை: அறிவு என்பது இறுதி வாராமல் காப்பாற்றுகின்ற கருவியாகும். பகைவர்களாலும் அழிக்க முடியாத உள்ளிருப்பதாகிய காவலிடமென்னும் கோட்டையாகும்.
