எல்லா வகைகளும் நிறைந்ததாகவும், இடையூறுகளுக்கு அஞ்சாமல் போரிடக்கூடியதாகவும் உள்ள படை ஓர் அரசின் மிகச்சிறந்த செல்வமாகும்

எல்லா உறுப்புக்களும் நிறைந்ததாய் இடையூறுகளுக்கு அஞ்சாததாய் உள்ள வெற்றி தரும் படை, அரசனுடைய செல்வங்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் சிறந்ததாகும்.

தரைப்படை, கப்பல் படை, விமானப்படை, காவல்துறை என நாட்டைக் காப்போர் பிரிவினால் நிறைந்து, போர்க்களத்தில் புண்பட அஞ்சாது, பகைவரை வெல்லும் படையே ஆட்சியாளரின் செல்வத்துள் எல்லாம் முதன்மையான செல்வம் ஆகும்.

பரிமேலழகர் உரை: உறுப்பு அமைந்து ஊறு அஞ்சா வெல்படை - யானை முதலிய நான்கு உறுப்பானும் நிறைந்து போரின்கண் ஊறுபடுதற்கு அஞ்சாது நின்று பகையை வெல்வதாய படை; வேந்தன் வெறுக்கையுள் எல்லாம் தலை - அரசன் செல்வங்கள் எல்லாவற்றுள்ளும் தலையாய செல்வம். (ஈண்டுப் படை என்றது, அந்நான்கன் தொகுதியை, ஊறு அஞ்சியவழி வேறல் கூடாமையின், 'ஊறு அஞ்சா' என்றும், ஒழிந்த அங்கங்கட்கும் அரசன் தனக்கும் காவலாகலின் 'வெறுக்கையுள் தலை' என்றும் கூறினார்.).

மணக்குடவர் உரை: யானை, குதிரை, தேர், கருவி, காலாளாகிய உறுப்புகளால் அமைந்து, இடுக்கண் உற்றால் அதற்கு அச்சமின்றி, வெற்றியுடைய படை, அரசன் தேடியபொரு ளெல்லாவற்றினும் தலையான பொருள்; ஆதலால் படைவேண்டும்.
